Patrick and Derek first met online in June 2000, and immediately struck up a friendship/rivalry.
Both were interested in audio production at the time, and Patrick was annoyed to find that Derek, with a demo of sound forge having little experience with the program, could do as much as he could with his 3 years experience using Goldwave.
Subsequently, the "you're screwed" series was produced, started by Patrick as a measure of false showy superiority.
It was soon found, however, that Soundforge won over Goldwave, and so, naturally, from that point on, Patrick now uses Soundforge as his primary sound editing software because it is the win.
Patrick and Derek are audio hobbiests, and have small studio's, Patricks ran from his basement (known as P&D Audio productions remote studio number 0,) and Dereks ran from his bedroom (known is P&DAudio productions Remote studio number 0.5.) The name of Dereks studio came about because of the standard distribution table where the compliment of 0 is 0.5.
